As a pianist and keyboard player, who mostly also contributed his own compositions and arrangements, Bernd Kaftan toured with the band "Viva La Diva", with whom he performed at the legendary "Arsch Huh" concert on 9.11.1992 in Cologne, with Biggi Wanninger, and the cabaret artist Stefan Wald, worked with the band "hartkamp" (band of singer and composer Anne Hartkamp, with André Nendza and Fritz Wittek, performances, etc. at the Liederfest Bremen, the "Westspitzen" Festival, the WDR "Night of Songs"), with his own jazz / fusion quintet "semaphor" and the soul blues jazz quintet "Alabama Haircutters".
