A delicate debut album of introspective piano and electronica by a young French pianist, who felt confident enough to take the plunge with his own solo project, as a showcase for his compositional talents and refined touch, after several years in the bands of Sandra Nkaké and Henri Texier. 'A composition most often occurs in an unexpected manner. It lies dormant in me and emerges when the emotion is stronger than the decency that keeps it inside. Upriver is like a diary that I have been writing for more than ten years. During this period, I have experienced striking encounters that inspired me for these stories. Each of them left a secret within me that was impossible for me to keep. Like a storyteller, I have transformed these stories into melodies, into sound colors, for it is in the music that resides the most fundamental part of these secrets, the part that I can share and that links the stories to the audience.'
