Arianna Art Ensemble - Cimbalu d'amuri (2021) [Official Digital Download 24/96]

The album, released on June 15 in physical format and on all digital platforms, produced by Almendra Music, takes its cue from the tarantella "Stu petto è fatto cimbalu d'amuri", of which the German Jesuit Athanasius Kircher speaks in his treatise on tarantism.

Even in Sicily, in the seventeenth century, music was used for therapeutic purposes, as a therapy for tarantism, a religious rite that allowed, through music and dances, to heal the ailments caused by the bite of a dangerous poisonous spider. Was born from this ancient tradition, mentioned by the monk Athanasius Kircher, in his treatise Magnes sive de arte magnetica (Rome, 1641), the new album of Arianna Art Ensemble entitled “Cimbalu d amuri”, produced by the label Almendra Music, in a release on the 15th of June in the physical format, and in all the digital platforms (including Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, and Bandcamp).
