The 'how to' method of approach to developing a Logic Program for any system and or machinery.
What you'll learn
This course will cover the fundamentals in understanding and using Digital Logic in programming machine controls.
The Schneider Electric Zelio Soft smart relay programming software will be used throughout the course, a free and user friendly programming software.
The lesson video gives an example of taking a particular piece of equipment ( Press ) and goes through the steps of developing a program to automate the Press.
This lesson builds on the previous lesson 'Understanding Truth Tables and Digital Logic' and the skills gained by applying them to more complex new scenarios.
Requirements
A necessary prerequisite may be having completed the 'Understanding Truth Tables' lesson, but if you already have a strong command of that area in Digital-Logic controls and just want to get familiar Programmable Logic Gate Controls then having a Microsoft OS computer for the Zelio Soft programming software would suffice.
Description
This course will provide you a way or method of approach to machine control and design of your program logic. For many the hardest part is 'where do I start?' You will also gain the practical hands on skills and a fundamental knowledge base of a newer programming method that can best be described as 'Programmable Logic Gate Controls' or PLGCs which many are finding to be a more adaptable and user friendly way of programming. Yes it is faster because it can immediately and directly repeat the logic language in our own thought process when we are developing a program solution and allow us to write that quickly on the work bench provided in the software. No more ladder logic in the Logic, just plain Logic! To understand how we actually already think in logic please see the video and lesson 'Truth Tables and how they really help us!'If you have progressed through the first video and its associated lesson mentioned above and are now going to get this next lesson under your belt, you will find that if later you wish to progress into PLCs (Programmable Logic Controls) your understanding of writing PLCs will have been better enhanced than if you had not learn this method of PLGC first.
PLC's occupy a large sector of industry's machine control, but a strong trend is emerging whereby smart relays are being readily used to care for small programming projects with great ease and success. Out of this scenario we find that Programmable Logic Gate Control to be a faster more simpler way of programming as one can quickly asses the logic of a situation necessary to write a program, install and run it, saving time, material and even frustration. Those in the field from Engineers to Electricians that have been programming PLCs for years will find this refreshing, PLGCs (Programmable Logic Gate Controls) by pass the thinking process of ladder logic by using Digital-Logic to describe the issue/solution and then write it as directly understood. The step of converting the logic back into PLC is eliminated.
