    Bertha Holst (1881-1929) var en dansk forfatter, der primært skrev børne- og ungdomsbøger og ofte tog udgangspunkt i sin egen opvækst og sine egne erfaringer fra ophold på børnehjem og som adoptivbarn. Holst debuterede i 1908 med en roman rettet mod et voksent publikum, Vingefang (1908). Samme år udgav hun børnebogen "Tvillingerne", og Holst blev hurtigt kendt som en af de bedste danske børnebogsforfattere, fordi hun skrev med indlevelse, nærvær og en autenticitet, der var i børnehøjde og som regel på børnenes side.
