    I fatti riguardanti la nascita del Salvatore sono tanti e tali da essere previsti, meditati e narrati nel corso di libri molteplici. Noi cercheremo di riassumerli in un piccolo scritto. Considerando infatti la difficoltà per chi desidera inoltrarsi nei meandri delle narrazioni storiche, per l’utilità e il diletto degli eventuali lettori, ci siamo sobbarcati la fatica di questo riassunto.
    Di qui dunque cominciamo la narrazione con parole ed immagini intercalate. Le immagini sono quelle del Pantocratore, effigiato nella Basilica del Santo Sepolcro di Gerusalemme e nel Monastero di Santa Caterina del Sinai, di Isaia affrescata nella Cappella Sistina, e quelle riferite ai Vangeli dell’Infanzia dipinte da Giotto e da Massimo Stanzione. Le parole fanno riferimento alle fonti, soprattutto bibliche, e spetta quindi ai lettori che intendono inoltrarsi di leggerle con l’ausilio della Bibbia.
