    L’esodo istriano, noto anche come esodo giuliano-dalmata, è un evento storico causato dalla sistematica e preordinata politica di “pulizia etnica” praticata dal regime comunista del maresciallo Josip Broz Tito per eliminare la maggioranza italiana dai territori appartenenti all’ex Regno d’Italia e ceduti con il trattato di Parigi del 10 febbraio 1947. La vicenda, susseguente agli eccidi noti come “massacri delle foibe”, coinvolse in generale tutti gli abitanti quei territori che diffidavano del nuovo governo jugoslavo e fu particolarmente rilevante in Istria, dove si svuotarono interi villaggi e città. La gran parte della regione storica dell’Istria ora appartiene alla Croazia.
