You will need a folding (or collapsible fan) . Additionally, you need to be in good physical shape to practice the techniques demonstrated in this course.
Description
The hand fan may be any broad, flat surface that is waved back-and-forth to create airflow to cool the user. Generally, these handheld fans are folding fans, which are shaped like a sector of a circle and made of a thin material (such as paper or feathers) mounted on slats, which revolve around a pivot so that it can be closed when not in use. This folding fan is a traditional weapon in the Chinese martial art of Kung Fu.In this course you will learn all of the blocks, strikes, and kata for the Kung Fu folding fan. This weapon may be practically applied in a self-defense situation in both the open or closed position. The kata is demonstrated in both the slow and full speed time frames so that the student can fully understand the kata and its applications.This course is an ideal teaching aid for review, rank testing, competition, and self-defense.Grandmaster Michael A. Stelzer holds several advanced ranks (5th Dan and above) in the styles of Kung Fu, Tang Soo Do, Tae Kwon Do, Kali/Arnis, Kobudo, Karate, Hapkido, and other various styles of martial arts. Currently, he has published over fifty books and instructional videos covering topics such as martial arts, the entertainment arts, math, and engineering.
