Requirements
There are no prerequisites for this course. The only requirement is the desire to get to know manufacturing of electronic products.
Description
In this course we tried to cover a different aspect of electronics which is not taught in universities and colleges. I call this aspect the unknown side of the Moon. Universities and colleges generally concentrate on the design aspects of electronics in their engineering programs. Manufacturing of electronics is left to the trainings to be done in the industry. Unfortunately not all students are lucky to fullfill an extensive training to learn all about production of electronic products. Engineers who do design work without a good knowledge of electronic product manufacturing processess and components often cause redesings and late entry to the market which can be detrimental in this fast changing World. This may even cause a dislike towards our products in the market. This course will be an invaluable aid to electronic engineering students who want to work in electronics industry. With this course we have tried to extend the knowledge of students, engineers, managers and owners of electronic product manufacturers so that they have better career, better electronic product designs which are manufacturable, testable and sellable. In electronic manufacturing selection criteria of components has a vital importance as it will no doubt affect the quality and marketability of our products. In this course we have covered how basic electronic components are manufactured and how their selection criteria and specifications should be decided during the design phase. Good component selection will bring success to our newly developped products. Electrical testing, stress screening and environmentally friendly products is yet another essential part of electronic manufacturing and is not included in the syllabuses of the universities or colleges. Information given here will update your knowledge on electronic product testing for a better test philosophy of your electronic products.
