Description
How to make a profit on quality inspection.1.- What is the key indicator of paper mill “fiber lost”?A higher fiber lost indicate problems with the incoming inspections.A lower fiber lost indicte most of the time a good incoming inspection.2.- My experience reducing moisture from bad OCC suppliers. For those suppliers that they have moisture results above the 25%, implemented the thermobalance measuring.Technically the answer is due to the bale moisture AP 500-M6 is less accurate reading above 25%, we decided to take a 3 samples from different parts of the bale OCC less than 3 g each one, put them together and make a moisture test on thermo. Repeat, just for the bad supplier, make the deduction based on an only one result according to thermobalance.3.- Changing the methodology of taking samples for OCC inspectionWe used to check 20 or 30 % of the bales on each delivery from our OCC suppliers, and also we used to make a closed bale inspection, well, nevertheless, we are going to make a open bale inspections ramdonly doing a good team with our parthers of logistic, with the forklift operators to catch bales with moisture. In my experience when we recieve bales on dry box, is clear the wáter marks on the floor, wáter falling from the roof and walls.Benefits of make inspections on open bale:- Accurate reading moisture for supplier deliveries (sometimes the suppliers spread wáter inside to get more weight and in consequence more money).
