Description

The plot is the events or actions that drive your story — it describes the “what” of your tale. The plot lets the reader know what's happening, describes the problems your characters are trying to solve, and gives the details on how they attempt to solve them. A strong, compelling plot is essential to any story.  At its core, a plot is a sequence of events that progress with a purpose and lead toward an end goal. It is what drives the narrative forward and holds it together. This course teaches the basics of how to plot a book from beginning to the end, helps authors discover the importance of knowing why you want to write your book in order to keep motivated during the writing process, and 4 key questions to ask before you begin the process of plotting or writing your book. Participants will learn skills that are important for developing the plot of a book in order to successfully get a manuscript ready for publication. Readers love strong books with well-developed plots and so do publishers. This course will teach authors what points in a plot are important to have in the book in order for the book to flow well.  By following this process, authors learn to strengthen weak plot points they may discover upon editing.
