This book presents a comprehensive review of applications of geophysical and geological results to the dynamic processes of Earth’s crustal evolution.
Chapters present examples of Plio–Pleistocene tectonic structures in the Trindade Island volcanic edifice (South Atlantic, Brazil), hydrogeological implications from the easternmost part of the southern Tunisian Atlas, and a reconstruction of stress fields in East European craton. The book also discusses and analyzes the Ngoc Tu granitoid blocks in Vietnam to predict magma sources and oxidation-reduction state in the geochemistry section. Finally, the book presents two studies related to the evolution of biodiversity due to plate tectonic movements and especially observations in ancient ecosystems considering the morphology of ostracod fossils to provide insights into past environments and climate changes.
