Through this course, I will walk you through the different types of materials: metals, ceramics, and polymers. Along the way, we will review some important concepts of general chemistry which will be beneficial for you to understand the material in this course. We will talk about how materials are selected for biomedical applications, the structure of each material type, and how defects in the structure affect the strength of the material.
