TINTIN et le Mystère de la Toison d'Or (1961)

Le capitaine Haddock reçoit une lettre annonçant la mort d'un vieil ami, Témistocle Paparanic, qui lui laisse en héritage son navire : la « Toison d'Or ». Alors qu'il va le voir à Istanbul avec Tintin et Milou, il découvre que la Toison d'Or est un navire délabré et sans grande valeur. Anton Karabine, un mystérieux homme d'affaires, offre 600 000 livres turques au capitaine en échange du navire. Intrigués par tant d'intérêt, Tintin et Haddock font des recherches sur les proches de Paparanic, pour apprendre que des années auparavant, lui et son équipage ont fait un coup d'État au Tétaragua (pays fictif d'Amérique latine inspiré du Nicaragua) et y ont occupé le pouvoir durant huit jours. Chassé du pays, Paparanic s'enfuit avec l'or de la banque centrale.Tintin et Haddock vont se retrouver confrontés à de nombreux gangsters qui veulent s'approprier l'or perdu, avec Karabine à leur tête.

The first movie based on Hergé’s character Tintin begins when Temistocle Paparanic, an old friend of Captain Haddock, dies and he inherits Paparanic’s ship, “La Toison d’or” or “The Golden Fleece”. Tintin and Haddock travel to Istanbul to collect it, only to find that its a worthless-looking wreck. However, soon a certain Anton Karabine offers him 600,000 pounds for it. When Haddock refuses to sell, he’s nearly killed. After a while, the truth comes out: Paparanic and his crew led a coup in Tetaragua, a small Latin-American country. After ruling the country for three years, Paparanic left with the gold of the National Bank, and now his old shipmates are to trying get hold of it.
