When the new college year starts, Eloi and Alexandre encounter André, the most brilliant student in the lecture theater. Fascinated by his ease and charisma, they quickly fall under his spell: André then offers them his friendship in exchange for complete loyalty to him. Lost in admiration, Eloi and Alexandre devotedly submit to this rigorous discipline – up until the day that André leaves them, claiming to have won a grant to study in the States. Suddenly abandoned, Eloi and Alexandre now have no other choice than to become adult through their own endeavors.
