Chloé (Florence Loiret Caille) vient de se séparer de son mari, qui l'a quittée pour une autre femme. Brisée, désemparée, elle part en week-end à la campagne chez son beau-père, Pierre. Over the period of one night, Pierre shares with Chloé, his daughter-in-law, this dark secret that has haunted him for twenty years. The secret that confronts him with himself, his contradictions and his choices, his male role and his failings. The secret of this love he felt for Mathilde, which he finally didn't act upon, choosing instead a safer, more familiar path. Over an evening, we will come to learn about the life of this man who dared not follow his dreams. Adapted from the novel by Anna Gavalda, this film by Zabou Breitman presents us with the moving face to face encounter between a man and his daughter-in-law during a weekend. As secrets are revealed, memories rise to the surface, caught between nostalgia and regrets.
