In the near future, young Billy (Jude Law) is released from prison and meets up with his girlfriend, Jo (Sadie Frost). Immediately, they steal a car and go "shopping," their term for crashing the vehicle through the window of an upscale store, then stealing everything they can. But Billy's return to the streets draws the ire of both the law and rival crooks, like the merciless Tommy (Sean Pertwee), who sets his sights on getting rid of the upstart criminal for good.
