    American diplomat Robert (Gregory Peck) adopts Damien (Harvey Stephens) when his wife, Katherine (Lee Remick), delivers a stillborn child. Shortly thereafter, Brennan dies and Katherine miscarries when Damien pushes her off a balcony.
