Benny (Kim Larsen) and Arnold (Erik Clausen) are homeless and along with others living on Nørrebro in Copenhagen. The police is set to clear the building they liv in, but while cleaning the House, Spacy (Allan Olsen) takes the jump from 5th floor. After beeing released from the police and hospital, Benny knows where to find Arnold. The old factory, where they played as children. The factory is now closed and is that a fresh benning? Can the girl Susan perhaps straighten them and make them take the right path? To survive they take on moonshine work. But are the locals happy with that? And what about the politician Kaj Buhmann (Poul Bundgaard) is he satisfied that "Haveje" is making there own society? The movie contains classical songs from Kim Larsen.
Marking veteran director Erik Balling's retirement from directing, this old-fashioned, but thoroughly entertaining film, tells the story of two lifelong friends moving into a free-spirited society (obviously inspired by Christiania, the authentic free commune in downtown Copenhagen). Kim Larsen and Erik Clausen both give appealing performances, and despite occasional bursts of violence and unexpected drama, film has an overall innocuous feel to it. Because of an overabundant use of stereotypes in the supporting characters, the film has dated a bit (it was made in 1984), but still hasn't lost its appeal. Raabjerg is very good as the girl who gets between them. Based on Larsen's hit record, released as the soundtrack.
