What makes the Dorcel series "La soumise" different from other Herve Bodilis-directed shows is an abundance of dialog, actual characters limned, and a real feel for storytelling.

Link from film to film is Rico Simmons portraying author Jean Le Fort, a charismatic master who preaches the male domination/female submission life-style, a theme common to Bodilis.

Mariska, an empathetic character actress who commands respect beyond the usual sex-appeal of an Adult Movie star, is effective in the lead role, and benefits from supporting actress Clea Gaultier, the best of several new stars Dorcel discovered in recent years. Clea starred in last year's "La Soumise" edition, and interestingly Mariska appeared in that one in a different role, married to Pascal Saint James while David Perry is her partner in this one.
