The Siemens Digital Industries Software development team is pleased to announce the availability of Simcenter Femap 2412.0001. Apart from fixes in the detected issues, this version hosts a couple of noteworthy updates and enhancements as well.
Simcenter Femap is a FEA pre-/postprocessor for robust modeling and meshing, interoperability with popular solvers, and ease-of-use. The latest release of Simcenter Femap 2412 continues this trend by introducing key features and updates to enhance your productivity and collaboration, streamline your modeling processes for geometry, meshing, analysis, and postprocessing.

Teamcenter Integration
- Added wait cursor for LoginToTeamcenter operation.
Model
- Added ability to read Unicode names from Parasolid X_T files to properly name the parts.
API
- Performance improvement - recoded API functions feSurfaceCorner and feSurfaceCornersMultiple to a much faster algorithm than the one used in the GUI. Since the one in the GUI only makes one at a time, it really doesn't matter there, but feSurfaceCornersMultiple can have any number of surfaces and need a more streamlined approach.

Performance Graphics
- Corrected issue where "OpenGL not cleaned up" errors are issued when meshing surfaces from the toolbox. These errors should not impact functionality immediately, but could cause issues if they are encountered repeatedly. (PR# 11205921)
- Corrected issues with New Picking geometry when the clipping plane was on:
1. Area picking of surfaces did not obey the clipping plane
2. Incorrect flickering of curve highlighting when clipping plane was on
3. Clipping plane was not updated if dynamically changed when picking
- Corrected issue that prevented the highlighting or showing of boundaries in Unified Architecture.
- Corrected issue where the application crashes when front picking surfaces if there are boundaries defined by curves in the model. (PR# 11180546)
Model
- Corrected issue with File > Export > Femap Neutral Output where using the Select Group(s) method, The application would delete the group that was selected, or highest ID of the groups that were selected. (PR #11200375)
Analysis Manager
- Implemented the job monitor functionality for Autodesk Nastran essentially fixing a crash. Fixed the issue where running an NX Nastran job after running an Autodesk Nastran job does not initialize the job monitor pane correctly for NX Nastran. Fix also resolves issue where running a job with a different solver creates one more job monitor pane for that solver without closing the previous job monitor pane of a different solver. (PR# 11198282)
- Corrected issue which could cause a crash when reading an SCD5 file SOL414 containing certain types of functional results.
