MSC Simufact Welding 2024.2 | 2.8 Gb
Hexagon is proud to announce the release of MSC Simufact Welding 2024.2 is a major release that contains a few new functionalities or options as well as improvements to existing functionalities and crucial bugfixes.
What's new in MSC Simufact Welding 2024.2 Summary
New Shape comparison tool
- What is it? A new shape comparison tool is available for all geometries.
- What is in it for you? The ability to compare all the geometries along the Smart Assembly Shop workflow – particularly the state of the different components at different stages of the virtual fixture and assembly process.
Cooling and Clamping Only license
- What is it? New license configuration for Virtual Fixture (Cooling and Clamping).
- What is in it for you? This Simufact Welding base product package exclusively contains the solution for the virtual fixture. It excludes any unnecessary Simufact Welding features.
Further Improvements
- What is it? Assembly structures (e.g., with transformations) in STP/STEP files are now imported correctly. Improved GUI contact algorithm. Allow entering multiple lines at once into the Python console.
- What is in it for you? These further improvements will help the general user experience, making it easier and more efficient to set up, run, and evaluate welding simulations.
Simufact is a leading FEA based simulation solution for metal forming, welding and heat treatment. Simufact provides your manufacturing team with the ability to simulate the entire manufacturing process chain to optimize manufacturing processes, reduce costs and time-to-market, while improving product quality. With Simufact, your team can simulate operations starting from blanking, shearing of wires or billets, to multi-stage forming, punching, trimming, and heat treatment followed by joining operations, welding and structural analysis.
Simufact Welding is used to model and optimize a wide range of thermal joining processes through the welding structure simulation considering weld sequence and clamping. Processes such as arc welding, laser beam welding, electron beam welding, brazing, resistance spot welding, and the generative manufacturing process ‘Direct Energy Deposition’ (DED or WAAM) can be modeled in Simufact Welding. Simufact Welding can be used to model heat treatment, different variants for cooling and unclamping, and the mechanical load on welded structures.
