Fall in Iowa City means one thing: football! “Iowa doesn’t have any sports teams, so everyone here lives for our Hawkeyes,” says Mallory. “Iowa is known for having the best tailgates. Anything goes on game days and the craziness usually starts before seven A.M.!” How do Iowans survive the off-season? “It’s not uncommon to catch a good time in downtown Iowa City,” she explains. “If you’re not hooking up yourself, you’re probably watching someone else doing it. Inhibitions go out the window once you hit downtown—you have to be ready to have a good time to survive it.”
