“No big team, just a young woman enjoying life on a magical island that hopefully reminds the viewer to enjoy life under the sun,” is how photographer Jelle Stokhof sums up the feeling he and model Esme wanted to create. He also talks about how they originally met and why Bali was the perfect location for this shoot, which stands out for its beautiful composition and aesthetics. “Esme and I met on Instagram a while ago and when I saw she was on Bali the same time as me I knew we had to shoot together to create some magic. To me, Bali is a place of contemplation, solitude and freedom and I wanted to capture the essence of that in an intimate series shot in my villa in Uluwatu. The secluded vibe of a traveller unwinding in solitude was the key for this shoot.”
