The group's led by reedman Khaliq Al-Rouf – who plays soprano sax and flute – and other instrumentation includes trombone, guitar, piano, bass, and lots of percussion – some of which is played by Alvin Queen. There's a bit of vocals on the record too – sung by Beatrice Parker, who brings in a hip vibe that pushes the record even higher towards the heavens – and the record has a really great sound that's somewhere in the territory of the Strata East albums by Dick Griffin or Charles Davis.
