Hazell Dean (née Poole; born 27 October 1952) is an English dance-pop singer, who achieved her biggest success in the 1980s as a leading hi-NRG artist. She is best known for the top-ten hits in the United Kingdom "Searchin' (I Gotta Find a Man)", "Whatever I Do (Wherever I Go)" and "Who's Leaving Who". She has also worked as a songwriter and producer.

In late 2022, Boubacar Gaye and Bassdi Koné, members of the Melbourne-based Afro-Cuban ensemble Ausecuma Beats, returned to West Africa in the culmination of an idea that had been brewing since the world first went into lockdown in early 2020. The pair wanted to return to their homes in Dakar and Bamako respectively, to be reunited with family, friends, country, and with the vibrant music communities in those cities they had left behind when emigrating to Australia.

Nine-piece West Africa-via-Melbourne ensemble Ausecuma Beats and improvised collective Zeitgeist Freedom Energy Exchange, also known as Z*F*E*X, reveal a new collaborative EP out August 19 via Music in Exile.

When you mix Guinea, Mali, Senegal, Cuba and Australia, you find yourself with many cultures. We represent Africa, sure, but also we represent diversity. That is the essence of Ausecuma Beats. We want to come together, to bring all people together to share the knowledge of what we have learnt.

Blind Faith's self-titled album was the only recording released by the short-lived super-group. Though the band had a brief and rough history, "Blind Faith" was a successful album, peaking at #1 on both the UK Albums Chart and the Billboard Pop Albums chart in 1969 and was certified platinum by the RIAA. On a list by Rolling Stone of "The 30 Greatest One Album Wonders", Blind Faith was at number 14.

Goats Head Soup is the 11th British and 13th American studio album by The Rolling Stones, released in August 1973. Like its predecessor, Exile on Main St., the band composed and recorded much of it outside of the United Kingdom due to tax issues. Goats Head Soup was recorded in Jamaica, United States, and the United Kingdom, and mixed in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. The album contained 10 tracks, all written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, including lead single "Angie", which went to No. 1 as a single in the United States and top 5 in the UK.

On their debut full-length, Ausecuma Beats encapsulate the spirit of this unique band; each track showcases the different talents of each musician and sonically explores what is possible when we join together and celebrate our differences. Ausecuma Beats are more than just a band, they are a community, a family, a frame of mind.

With this new project, Joan Monné offers us a handful of old compositions, recorded in previous projects, such as his own trio, the Nou Nonet or the quartet with Carme Canela, performed by a new formation of a quartet without drums. He is accompanied by Rai Ferrer on double bass, with whom he had already shared multiple formations years ago; Santi de la Rubia on the saxophone, which had been part of his nonet; and Óscar Latorre on the trumpet, with whom he collaborates for the first time. A formation, then, where the veterans of Monné and Ferrer meet with the youth of Latorre and de la Rubia, at the service of a music where lyricism and a way of doing things that may be old, but which is always in search of beauty.

"I'm the One" is an album by Roberta Flack released in May 1982 which reached #59 on the album chart in Billboard whose R&B album chart afforded the album a #16 peak. The Burt Bacharach/Carole Bayer Sager-produced "Making Love", which appeared in the film of the same name and in the spring of 1982 had afforded Flack her final solo Top 40 hit.

Swiss singer-pianist Elsie Bianchi may not be a household name, but from the early 1950s through the 60’s she was one of the best jazz singers in Europe. Her sensuous voice and hip phrasing has shades of Anita O’Day. Elsie first gained fame through her appearances at the Zurich Jazz Festival in the early 50’s. Elsie and husband bassist Siro Bianchi toured the USA in 1958-59, playing at the legendary Lighthouse jazz club south of LA. She and Siro then began playing winters in Europe and summers in America before permanently moving to the States. Siro and MPS ‘house drummer’ Charly Antolini make it a tight trio.

"Travesía [voyage]," the inaugural solo album by Irene Torres, signifies a journey back to her Peruvian roots. Sung in Spanish, the album consists of five original tracks, three cover songs, and three instrumental interludes, blending a unique array of musical styles, including Afro-Peruvian rhythms, bolero, lando, marinera, tondero, valsé, and festejo.
