The Symphonic Dances, an orchestral suite in three sections, was the last work Rachmaninov completed and proved one of his most popular compositions. Although rarely sentimental, it draws on many of the composer’s reminiscences of Russia, from where he emigrated in 1917. Gergiev couples the Symphonic Dances with another work in three movements by a Russian émigré to the USA. Stravinsky’s Symphony in Three Movements was written between 1942-45 and was the first work Stravinsky completed after his arrival in the USA.

Handel Variations is a collection of Stadtfeld's very own favorite works by Handel, all newly arranged for and played on the piano. Stadtfeld himself says "I must confess that I find it hard to listen to a whole Handel opera or oratorio in large numbers. Nevertheless, I am convinced that individual "taken out" arias can unfold their effect and aura without their original emotional background. Maybe especially on the piano, which basically remains an abstract instrument." The album contains Handel's most famous melodies and hit arias such as "Lascia ch'io pianga" and "Ombra mai fu" as well as the famous "Sarabande" in new and unique piano versions and many more beautiful melodies.

Deutsche Grammophon have announced the signing of Oscar-nominated, Emmy-winning, pianist and composer Dustin O’Halloran. He will release a new EP, Sundoor, on vinyl and digitally, on 8 November 2019. Dustin O’Halloran’s Sundoor will feature a single 20-minute piece entitled ‘196 Hz’, adapted from a 2017 site-specific composition for cross-disciplinary American artist Slater Bradley’s Sundoor At World’s End – an installation at the Church of Mary Magdalene in Venice, Italy, during the Venice Biennale. A new album, which will be his first solo studio album since 2011’s acclaimed Lumiere, will be released in 2020.

Royal Fireworks, a collection of Baroque masterpieces and new arrangements performed with the Balsom Ensemble (her hand-picked ensemble of period instrument specialists), will be Balsom’s 13th solo release for Warner Classics and her first since 2016’s Jubilo. The album sees her perform on the natural (valveless) trumpet and features concertos and orchestral masterpieces by Handel, JS Bach, Telemann and Purcell. A pioneer of adapting works written for other solo instruments, Balsom is committed to demonstrating the versatility of the trumpet and will feature three new orchestrations by arranger Simon Wright on the album.

Superstar tenor, Roberto Alagna, returns with his sensational new album Caruso. Caruso 1873 is Alagna’s tribute to the Neapolitan singer who Alagna considers to be the greatest tenor of all time. Alagna honours his legendary predecessor with a selection of repertoire drawn from Caruso’s own recording career, which stretched from 1902 to 1920.

L´extraordinaire tour de France d´Adelard Rousseau is another critically acclaimed album from Malicorne. It's regarded as their best album next to Almanach and with the more extensive use of drums, synths and folksy time signatures; it might be an attractive album for folk prog heads (if there exists such a being).
