Django put the Modern Jazz Quartet on the international musical map, crystallizing the MJQ’s elegant approach to blending American improvisational and European classical music. Pianist and musical director John Lewis, with innovative vibist Milt Jackson as foremost soloist, spearheaded the MJQ’s trailblazing fusion work, from the blues to Basie, Bach to bop, with bassist Percy Heath and drummer Kenny Clarke. The first notes of the title piece, Lewis’s tribute to gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt, firmly established a new jazz tone.

The singer-songwriter from Minas Gerais, Clara Castro, 23, scheduled for July 20, in music applications, the release of her debut album. "Caostrofobia" was produced by Rodrigo Campello and will be released by the label NOMAD, with distribution of Som Livre. The album opens in a rocky climate with the title track, a partnership between Nathan Itaborahy and Renato da Lapa. "Caostrofobia" talks about the creative process and the life in expansion in the space of an apartment: "He smiled at Guadalupe at the altar / Vagou with fireflies around / He turned on the disco at twenty-three / And made a commotion in the morning", says an excerpt from the lyrics, playful and imaginative. "It is the city invading the apartment and the apartment invading the city.An invitation for the listener to imagine there, in that confusion that is the head of those who live always recreating the world within themselves, solving the inevitable prisons that urban life brings" , explains Clara Castro.

Richie Nieto is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and composer. I have contributed studio guitar performances as band member or session musician on over 20 albums, some of them for major labels like Sony Music, and I have released two solo albums as an independent artist. I also have been a touring guitarist with several rock bands. I have played over 1,200 shows in venues ranging from bars to stadiums in 7 countries and opened shows for renowned artists like Sting, Jethro Tull, Jon Anderson, Survivor, Starship, Caifanes, Miguel Mateos, Soda Stereo and many more. In addition, I assembled, directed and played guitar in a band of session musicians with Stephen Stills of the legendary band Crosby, Stills and Nash for a single show in Costa Rica.

"Say what you will about the 75-year-old Wilhelm Kempff's "old school" Goldberg Variations, with its unembellished Aria, seeming surface plainness, and avoidance of virtuosic sheen. However, I say that this 1970 recording remains among the most beautiful and heartfelt piano versions of Bach's keyboard tour-de-force. Within Kempff's straight-laced, intimate parameters you encounter the most subtle nuances, changes of color, dynamic gradations, and accents.
